It is no secret that I am self-proclaimed bookworm. Even though I love many different genres, books written from a Christian perspective are my favourite. I’m sure you can imagine how happy I was when Moody Publishers offered to send me The 5 Love Languages written by Dr. Gary Chapman in exchange for a review.
This is how the Moody Publishers website describes the book:
“With more than 10 million copies sold, The 5 Love Languages® continues to transform relationships worldwide. And though originally written for married couples, its concepts have proven applicable to families, friends, and even coworkers. The premise is simple: Each person gives and receives love in a certain language, and speaking it will strengthen that relationship. For singles, that means you can:
- Understand yourself and others better,
- Grow closer to family, friends, and others you care about
- Gain courage to express your emotions and affection
- Discover the missing ingredient in past relationships
- Date more successfully
Whether you want to be closer to your parents, reach out more to your friends, or give dating another try, The 5 Love Languages®: Singles Edition will give you the confidence you need to connect with others in a meaningful way.”
As you can see, this is not just a book about dating. I think all of us could use some help in navigating relationships at home, with friends, or even at work. It is amazing to be able to recognize the “Love Language” of those around us. If you ever feel like you’re not connecting or communicating with people well – especially those who you should, in theory, have a good relationship with, then this publication will most likely revolutionize your way of thinking. It is definitely eye-opening and practical. I’m incredibly thankful to have learned how to relate to people better.
