Marie Reads: Week 1

As you may know from my #19for2019, one of my goals is to read 100 books this year. Reading has always been my favourite activity, however, it doesn’t usually happen unless I make an effort to do so. To keep myself accountable, I have decided to post what I read each week.

Last week was a little crazy and I managed to read “only” two books. To be completely honest, if I hadn’t scheduled my reading for an hour each night, I probably wouldn’t have read anything at all.

So, without further ado, here are the books that I finished reading in the first week of 2019:

Better Than Before

Written by Gretchen Rubin, this book about habits changed my life without me even realising it. It has some great insights on how habits are acquired based on different personalities. Gretchen’s easy-to-read writing style will have you turning to another page even though you told yourself 20 pages ago that the next one would be your last one.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

This one obviously does not need a plug. I love the whole Harry Potter series and I try to re-read the books frequently. Five years ago, the British versions were reprinted with a cover illustrated by Jonny Duddle and I absolutely love them! And you know what’s even better? You can now get them even in the States!

And … that’s a wrap for my very first ‘Marie Reads’ post. As always, I would love to hear from you! Any books you are dying to recommend?
