Do you trust God with your finances?

We all have some financial fears. You might be a stay-at-home mom, trying to take care of your family with your husband’s income. You might have a well-paid job and still be anxious about money. I am in my freshman year in Bible college, studying Missions and following God’s will for my life. Because I’m an international student, I can only work on campus – 20 hours a week! My family is not saved and doesn’t want anything to do with my studies. Talk about fear! Yet throughout the semester, I could see God working in a miraculous way! He has provided for every single tuition payment! There were times when I was really struggling with my trust. Over and over I was reading Bible verses about God’s provision. And even though I wasn’t always the most faithful, He kept showing me that He always keeps His promises and it is only up to me to claim them.

This is so important to remember! God is always aware of our needs. Even if you’re facing what seems like an impossible situation (like me, having to make my last tuition payment by the 5th of December, otherwise I won’t be able to take my final exams), surrender your needs to the LORD. Ask Him to show you how you can use what He has already given you. He wants us to trust Him with our finances!

Below are my favorite Bible verses I tend to re-read to remember and claim all His promises:

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 4:19

“For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.” ~ Matthew 6:32

“I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.” ~ Psalms 81:10

“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” ~ Matthew 21:22

“He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” ~ Romans 8:32

Powerful, isn’t it? What a mighty God we serve! Do you trust Him with your finances?
